Who is Teresa Koester anyway? I’m a mother,  teaching artist, poet, light kindler, gardener, nature lover and skipper of ghost ships.

 

I’ve taught art for all age levels, but specialize in adolescent and adult learning. I taught 8 years at Louisville Collegiate School in the Upper School, 6 years at Bellarmine University, and another 6 years at University of Kentucky. I’ve also taught at several other universities. I’m a mindfulness meditation practitioner and trained in mindfulness education by Mindful Schools. I’ve developed my own curriculum in art practice meditation. I hold my Masters of Fine Arts with a specialization in painting and printmaking. The prestigious Scholastic Art & Writing Awards commended me as a National Medalist Educator for four consecutive years 2016-2019 based on the work of my students. Curiosity fuels my practice, and a sacred respect for the earth fills my wellspring.
